Gets the gas mileage, has 320 hp and walks all the above mentioned cars, While falling under the 25k cap. KrNxRaCer00 05-29-2003, 06:10 PM Originally posted by 94svt5.0 How about a 99 or 2001 cobra? Not in straight line runnning, but the Independent rear suspension of the cobra would rule in the twisties BlkCamaroSS 05-29-2003, 08:57 PM I know you could get an LS1 powered Z28 for less than 25k. I got mine for $26k when it was three months old and had 3k miles on it, so I know you could find one now, and have money left to play with so that if you ever did run into a Cobra on a twisty road, you could pass with ease. ::wonders when he saw any car race in anything other than a straight line and draws a blank:: 94svt5.0 05-29-2003, 09:16 PM Its going to take a good bit of money to improve the handling ability of the camaro to be on par with an IRS system. And yes racing in the twisties is not un-heard of:rolleyes: Not sure but, I think there called road courses... racetracks maybe? TheDirtyLittleMan 05-29-2003, 09:25 PM have you thaught about a t-type or grand national, you can get a good one for about 10 grand. i posted a story on here the other day about a race i witnessed betwen one of these new 500-500-500 rt10 vipers and a grand national. they are CHEAP to mod, ive been doing my homework;) you can get a new wastegate for little or nothing and crank out mid 12 passes, good enough to give a vette a run fot its money and about 1000 or so more you can break in to the 11s. there increadable cars and i would LOVE to own one but with my wally world budget im stuck driveing 500 buck beaters:( heres a good compairision of new and old muscle cars that lists several of the cas mentchened above. check out the t type on page 3. its got a new wastegate and its got a low 4 second 0-60, man i really want one of them cars BAD. http://popularmechanics.com/automotive/new_cars_trucks/1997/8/showdown_new_muscle_cars/index.phtml BlkCamaroSS 05-29-2003, 09:26 PM Most don't have one close to them. SCCA is not a cheap thing to do, 99% of the population will stoplight race before they race a clock... -The Stig- 05-29-2003, 09:37 PM Once again.. somebody posts a question about a set budget they'd like to spend on a car... and people throw out ideas and it turns into stupid bickering... My suggestion.... FIND THE CAR YOU LIKE BEST AND BUY THE DAMN THING! Dont ask people at random... especially in this forum. Honestly guys/gals.. whenever this topic comes up.... it just turns into mini-flame wars on whats better for the dollar. BlkCamaroSS 05-29-2003, 09:43 PM True, it never ends, that's kinda the fun in it. Everytime someone new asks a question like this, they don't know what they're in for :hehehe: KrNxRaCer00 05-29-2003, 10:41 PM :hehehe: quite enjoyable tho... hey now...i kept it civil. i even SAID that a FORD was an option... but still...does get redundant. SR20DETpower 06-01-2003, 09:40 PM well I myself would buy a Nissan Spec V if I wanted a NEW car, I thought thats what you were asking. If your going to get used you have so many options that you need to pick what you like which was mentioned. Plus you have a 'Teg so going from that to a Spec V would be pretty much the same kinda vehicle, just a bit nicer and new. to prior posters I don't think a N/A Mustang will walk on a Rx7 F3DS " you can get a new wastegate for little or nothing and crank out mid 12 passes," damn I didn't know adding a wastegate to a car could make it run 12's..... do some more research! :D Waveridr85 06-01-2003, 11:24 PM older rx7 maxima sti imprezza older eclipse w/ awd sylvia:D srt-4 Steel 06-02-2003, 04:20 AM Hmm.. with 25 grand, you can pick up a blown motor FC (2nd gen RX-7) with a really clean body for about $1000, then use the other 24K to swap in a 20b 3 rotor engine, mod the fook out of it, and run 10's. Or lower. Yeah yeah, I know i'm biased, but with that much money, it's most definetly an option.:D Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
