Bang for your buck over here you would be correct but best sporty sedan overall Id way prefer an M3 and so would most people if money was no object. Especially since the new WRX is so ugly compared to the old one and you dont have the STi in America

I almost went with M3, but i realized that if i wanted to take my very fast sedan off road, which i most likely will, i wouldn't do that with the M3, so WRX it is!

When I get by WRX STi, with about 10 grand in some nice mods, it will be doing rallys. So for me, its the WRX. And when we get the STi, I'm willing to bet $50 it'll be faster than the M3.

Perhaps theres so many WRX supporters because you dont have them, theyre really common over here and although they are a very nice car I would choose an M3 anyday.
M3 Performance: 0-100 km/h 5.8 secs, standing 1/4 13.7 secs
M Coupe: 0-100 km/h 4.9 secs, standing 1/4 13.5 secs
1998 WRX (newest i can find and the new shape is slower): 0-100 km/h 5.5 secs, standing 1/4 14.2 secs
1998 STi (once again new ones are slower): 0-100 km/h 4.6 secs, standing 1/4 13.3 secs.
Once you consider that the version 7 Sti is alot heavier witht he same motor as the 1998 there wont be alot of time in it. And look the M3 will be catching fast, Sti only beats it on better traction at the start.
Plus you ever heard an M3 being pushed, that exhaust note is enough to make me want it, its my favourite engine, I lonve the sound of it

Subaru Impreza 22B
276 hp
0-30mph = 1.7
0-60mph = 5.0
0-100mph = 13.0
Standing 1/4 = 13.7 @ 102 mph

That is a supremely poorly driven example. C&D got one to 60 in around 4.5 seconds.

Acceleration times? That's all this is being based on??? Surely there's more to performance driving than just drag-racing??
Anyway, the 22B isn't the best Impreza, it would be the P1 or probably even the RB5. The 22B is just too extreme and uncompromising, especially on UK roads.
Whilst we're on the subject of Imprezas, will someone tell me how an already aesthetically challenged car could get uglier? The new one is repulsive! What were they thinking?? Theres talk that there will be a facelift as sales have been poor. Anyone know the deal?
cheers

I like the old Subbie. The new one is kinda homely (although they are selling of them they can over here), it really needs new Prodrive lights like the WRC car.
I dont think they will have a restlyle, although some things should be changed.
About a comparison between an STi and M3, we will probably see one soon.
