Trying to buy a used car.

I'm trying to buy a used car but I need some information on the 90-94 Golf.

1.) I need to know about how much a good used one would cost me?
(i.e. $2000-$5000 USD)

2.) I need to know the specific MPG (gas mileage) these cars get, and yes I know different motors may have more or less so give me all.

thanks

I'm far too lazy to look up all this info for you, but now you don't have to look too hard yourself:

For pricing, go here

For mileage/other stats, go here

I'm thinkin about getting an MK4 myself, but tight on cash .. that or an mk3 GTI, but not much in the way of lo-mileage cars for cheap here in xpensive San Diego =\
