Question 2000 Tranny noise

Does anyone have any idea what the metal on metal friction sound i'm getting between 1000 and 2500 RPM? It only sounds when gear is engaged and driving me nuts. please help if you know...

Well I wouldn't keep driving it if you hear that noise all the time because something is rubbing together (metal to metal) and that can only cause more and more problems.. Maybe a tranny berring is shot but either than that I would know what the problem is.. Sorry

its the getrag tranny noise. It happends at low rpms in first and second. Get use to it. GM is aware of it but not doing anything about it.
