help plz my ECM fuse keeps blowing

i have a '95 astrovan, and the ECM fuse keeps blowing which kills the fuel pump, however this only happens everyonce in a while, and so the shop cannot repeat it to figure out what's wrong. does anyone know what would cause the ECM fuse to keep blowing....it happens randomly, and i have gotten stuck in several different places. i think it may have something to do with engin temp, because the last time it blew it was 100+ deg outside, and i was running both front and rear ac units. can anyone confirm this, have any of you had this same problem...any help would be much appreciated thx in advance.

Have you considered the fuel pump is blowing your fuse which is also the ECM fuse?

Is ecm fue A or B? Also check the injector wire at the throtle body. They tend to get jammed between the air clear spacer and the throtle body. A short cut to replace the air filter is to remove the top cover from the front and yank ythe old air filter out and push the new filter in. In the process the injector wires get caught and jammed when tightening the air cleaner cover. Check it out. Common problem.

This one I can help with. My 95 Astro did the same thing and left me in some awkward positions before it decided to quit completely in a pouring rain at 10:00 P.M. Wound up taking it to the dealer who found a defect in the placement of the wiring harness from the pcm to the fuse panel. This killed fuel pump and everything. The harness was laid across a metal brace and vibrations finally wore through the insulation and would short to ground thereby blowing the fuse. It finally managed to burn completely through the wire and opened the circuit. Repairs cost about $115.00. He spliced the wire and re-routed the harness or insulated it or something like that. Good luck.

Re: help plz my ECM fuse keeps blowing

I am having a similar problem with a 1992 AWD Safari. The ECM B fuse blows off now and then.
Changing the fuel pump didn't solve the problem. We have started to disconnect "stuff" which is driven by the ECM. First the linear EGR, but the fuse still blew, although much less often. Now the torque convertor clutch has been disconnected. Too soon to tell.....
but....

The defective wiring harness sure sounds intriguing... anyone know if the fabrication of the '92 and '95 models was similar in that regard ? Any chance we could get more detail on which wire was bad on that '95 unit ? i.e. was it the B+ to the ECM or one of the outputs ?
