Warning on Books

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say that the books I talk about I find very good and helpful, I recommend them, however you might not. So check the books out first at your library or a bookstore like B&N. I just don't want anyone buying the books online with out seeing them for themselves and then being upset because they spent $ and didn't like what they got. I wish I could just scan some pages and post them from some of my books but that would be in violation of copyright laws.

Note about libraries: They can just about get any book with an ISBN number even if they have to get it from another county, state, or buy it.
So if there is book you want to see be persistent and let the people know. You and or your parents pay taxes for county libraries and public schools so they can stock the books you want.

Thats all.

Take care

al

Personally, I say buy all the stinking books you can. I love art books and even the ones that haven't had great info have had a few points that really helped out. With that said, you should exhaust the library's supply of drawing books, then start buying ones that really help. Second hand stores are also a GREAT place to find art books. They are an untaped gold mine. Now...go out there and draw

I will have to try the second hand book stores.

If you do buy books online....I like amazon.com, their books are less expensive than B&N, and they offer free shipping.

I went to a second hand book store in Dallas that was freakin' HUGE. I got 4 commerical art books and a two cds for like 25 bucks. That was a few years ago though. I love old school art books. They get straight to the point and don't treat you like your 5.
