i just came on the import scene. i've been in love with hooptys for years and now that i own a import its just not fast enuff. i own a 1997 civic hx and know absolutly nothing on mods i've been told a hx is hopeless for high hp so i've juggled the idea of engine & tranny swaps someone help me on possable ideas for a medium budget swap thanx

but if you have $$ and want more power, try to find B18C

B16A is the Honda Civic Si engine USDM 160HP, JDM 170HP
B18C1 is the Acura Integra GSR enigne USDM 170HP, JDM 180HP

GSR is better in that the torque is much better... but can be almost a grand more then a B16A swap. I have a 99' civic HX and the next thing im doing is getting and engine swap. I think im going to get the SiRII which is that B16A but the JDM one.

I'd look for a b18c1 or a b18b1, b18a1 perhaps even a b20b motor. The b18b, b18a and b20b are relatively cheap motors (I'd check out local junkyards). Mated with the proper head these three motors make for a cheap and deadly base (great turbo motor's as well). You could also look around for a b16a2, they seem to be pretty abundant.

goto a junkyard and pick up an ex tranmission for $100 if you don't have money for a swap
