CB Coax

Ive heard people saying it is better to use as short of a Coax as possible. This is not true. The minimum coax length should be 18 ft, and at least 95% shielded. I use a Galaxy 99 with Beldin cable(97% shielded) with a Wilson 5000 Ant mounted on the Rack. Depending on Terrain and wheather, my signal averages around 5mi(more on open road,no mountains.

what people are probably implying is not to have excess coax that was to much to run so instead of clipping the end and making the length of the cable shorter people just coil it up and then attach to the cb. so this extra 2-10 ft or whatever of coiled up coax could cause interference or distortion.

Storm Chaser,
Where can you purchase the coax cable you just mentioned?
