I think a challenge that you face with the grid technique is the size of the grid. Try making the grid boxes maybe half the size. When comparing the reference grid to the your drawing try to scale how far up or down a line goes, if its is up 1/4 in the reference picture draw the line up to 1/4 of the box on the grid.

I'll see about a shading tut. I gotta start another drawing.

I think it is looking good. The headlight detail will add a lot to the drawing... It looks real good.

ChopinPorkChop,

I am glad you didn't give up.
The car is looking great.

Learning. That is a good thing. Lord, knows I am just learning too.
It seems I bring someting away from each art work.

The important thing is that we don't give up.

I just signed up but i had to say something about this one. This one looks alot better then your impreza(which wasnt bad the bumper just needed massaging). The grid worked out nicely for you this time, the form is deffinately there. However there are a few things that could help this be a better rendering. 1. Push the blacks and i mean PUSH em (you might not want to at first but it helps set the bar for other value decisions). 2. The paint looks completely flat it could use some reflections to help define the form and the bodylines and make it look more 3d. 3. reflections on the glass or shine or somethin. The rims and tires look ok freehanding elipses is never easy, throw some big brakes back there tho set it off. You could also put highlights on the tires and bring out the tread. ok enough rambling thats my two cents take it or leave it.
