They both have the same engine, and the GTX has AWD. Other than that, whats the difference?? I have been looking, but came up short. I would really like to know, as I want to get a GTX, but none are for sale now. So I'm not sure if I should wait, or get a GT.

what year 323 are you referting to?
1989- GT is non turbo front drive, GTX is 4WD Turbo, both 1840cc, GTR is hotted up racing version of GTX
but since you are on the other side of the world I would say you are refering to the 1968-shape that are 1600cc turbo., not exactly sure on that lot.

Are you sure?? I thought the 88 and 89 models had the 1.6L, and the 1.8L was in 1990. I'm looking for an 88 or 89 GTX.

Am sure, the 1.8 GTX was produce in 89. Would have been late 89 so some countries would know them as 90's may be.

BTCHN7 NZ and Japan seem to get cars a year before America.
Like we can get 1992 Honda Del Sols and 1991 EG Civics and over there they can theyre 93 and 92 onwards.

I think alot of cars are a year behond over there

So you would have about 180hp stock, maybe 240 or so now. So that means if I can get a GTX (1.6L), 13's are possible:eek:

Well, that was weird. We both posted at the same time!

So I take it your looking for the older shape than that. Im not a fan of the above shape GTX and with a 1.6 youll really struggle to get into the 13s, that would take alot of work and in my opinon its not worth it. The 1.6 is an old engine and wasnt used in the 89 onwards shape over here, its not got a huge output especially for a turbo

Apparantly the B6T engine is really easy to crack open. Air intake, exhause, chip, more boost (15psi max with stock turbo), and a clutch, and you have 200 hp and a 0-60 in the low 6's. NOS and your going pretty good. (If I get one, it will become much lighter due to a lack of a back seat and all creature comforts)

um ive got a 1990 mazda familia gtx, my car wouldnt break 14 seconds and i doubt ur car would do 13's without chip, exhaust, filter etc

the gt version are 1800 dohc N/A front wheel drive

Chip not required, believe me. I have an NZ Performance Car Magazine here that shows me and my car before the final of the top 16 Eliminator at a local drag strip. My time for the win in the final was 14.01 and the track had been rained on earlier in the day and was still drying out.
Big bore, K&N panel filter in factory air box (bottom cut off it), cold air feed, a bit more boost and driving it properly, how you should on a strip, and I managed numerous 13.8 second 1/4 miles.

GTR's have 5 stud wheels, GTX's 4 stud, GTR's have a big intercooler in front of the radiator GTX a small one under battery (very small). GTR's a larger turbo, running less boost but more volume & better intercooling. The GTX's have LSD's as well as the GTR's. Gtr's have small trims on the wheelarches & a very big Scooby style bumper & boonet vents.

132hp, actually (but 130-135 would be normal). I still really want one, and if the right price came along, I think I would take it, even if I never licensed it, it would be ready after school. Heep told me he saw one for 1500 Canadian, if I saw that, I would buy one.

hay hows it peoples!!!i own a 86 gt 323 and a 1990 gtx 323 my question is can you tell me if you can use a ecu from the 86 in the 1990?if so then will it plug straght in?
the 86 is a 1600 turbo that was running 20psi,the gtx is standard running k&n and up to 13 psi!please let me know a.s.a.p!
