Angry Service Engine Soon light

I have a 1998 Nissan Altima GXE with 120+K miles on it. Around 95,000 miles the Service Engine Light came on, I recently had a code reader plugged into it and it responded that the oxygen sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 1) was bad. After I replaced the O2 sensor on the front of the car and disconnected the battery for several hours to attempt to clear the light it will not go off, anyone have any ideas how to clear that light without having to take it to Nissan and paying an outragous fee to have them clear it?

Lightbulb Autozone

Autozone will check the code and reset the service engine soon light. There is no charge for this service in my area.
