WIP Ferrari 625 F1 1954 (Revival 1/20)

After a small brake, with a non Ferrari car (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ghlight=jaguar) , I 'm back to my usual thematology... a Ferrari!

The 625 was essentially a development of 500 F2 Champions of 52-53, the upgrade 4cylinder series engine to 2.5 liters and other small modifications but it was not able to turn 625 into a competitive car, in the face of Maserati and Mercedes . Soon replaced by the 553-555 super squalo.
The contribution of 625 in the Ferrari trophies are two victories in '54 (with Froilan Gonzalez and Mike Hawthorn in the British and Spanish gp) and one in '55 (by Maurice Trintignant in the Monaco).</span>

The multimedia kit are from Revival in 1/20. The kit has a lot of flash, medium details, and pure fitting...

I start to clean metal parts...

After that I make some holes...

Finally, for this step, I attach the wheels and paint the tyres...

I hope you like it and I wait for your comments…
More soon...
Thanks for your time...

Re: WIP Ferrari 625 F1 1954 (Revival 1/20)

Hello again...
I make some progress with the revival kit.
First I riveting the fuel tank...

Then is time to prime (with zero grey primmer)...

After that I paint aluminium and dural aluminium (alclad's) the most of the mechanical parts...

The chassis painted with Humbrol's No64 (a grey)...

I paint some details with gold (also Humbrol's) and attached the main parts. I also make a quick weathering with raw umber...

I want to make an detail effect to the cockpit area, so a make this, from coffee box (the familiar, if you came in Greece, Frape )...

Finally, for now, I updated the front suspension...

I hope you like it...
Any comments and ideas are always welcome...
Thanks for looking...

Coming along nicely

"interesting" kit
Will you scratchbuild a second kit with all the leftover flash?

That's clearly not an easy kit, but your additions have already improved it. Nice!

Thanks klutz !
"Interesting" kit in that case, means medium details, poor fitting and of carse tons of flash

Re: WIP Ferrari 625 F1 1954 (Revival 1/20)

I continue the "pain" work with the engine of my Ferrari...
The engine from kit are very basic, so I add some additional details.
Some tubes...

And after a lot of work I take this...

The tank added to chassis...

During the engine wiring job, I also add some of them to the brakes

Now its time to attach the body parts to chassis...
A realy difficult job, thank to poor kit fitting and some errors in Revival's design. To fit this, I cut some parts and I make new holes for screws. The glueing process...

The "V" are from Victory
Thanks for looking and for your comments...

Re: WIP Ferrari 625 F1 1954 (Revival 1/20)

Hello again...
The project are in the final steps and I 'm very happy because the body finally attached on the chassis...
So I found time and happy mood to go on with some updates to the nose...

I Assembly some parts (brakrs, seat, steering wheel, gear lever) that had been assembled, painted and improved in previous stages. I also connect the brake cables ...

After that I polished the body, decaling and final polish with Tamiya wax...

I assembly the enormous exaust, the mirrors and some details in the front hood (from hasegawa TR kit)...

The final step, body riveting...

Thanks for looking...
I hope to finish soon, so I update with complete photos...

Good to see someone else building a Revival kit and doing it justice.
You are making a super job of the 625,I chose to make mine in the Argentine colours and have attached a pick.

Hi, I,ve made five Revival kits now and know most of the faults! If you need advice just ask. Keep up the good work you are doing.
