1997 safari rear shoes stick and Hop

I`ve got a 1997 safari which when brakes are applied the rear brakes hop when let go of the pedal. from stop. If I remove the drums and ajust the rear shoes closer to the drums everything works great for a month or so but then the rear shoes seem like they stick after braking as approcing a stop light. also they sqeal too. Shoes are still fairly good and have material still on them. Should the rear drums not adjust themselves on rear braking. Not sure if this sounds right but it seems to me that the rear brakes are not adjusting themselves. Doing a manual adjust solves the problem for abit. Had the drums cut removed and lubed everything angain but this sticking or hoping after a stop seems to creep back after some miles. Anyone incouter this problem and maybe a possible solution. Thanks in advance
