Re: 3000gt's/Stealth very own off topic thread: Part Quatre
I'd still have to take the Viper ACR if it was my doller to spend. While the ZR-1 is may be more usable everyday, SL is right...it just looks liek another vette. And while i can respect the performance and engineering of the GT-R, i just cant get over the looks.
And lest face it...if you really bought one of these cars, what would you fo with it? You'd take it to the local friday night car meet, and probably to the track every month or so. I just think the viper would be the most fun.
But maybe that's jsut the 10 year old in me talking.

you just can argue with that...

Even if it gets the rumored 520 hp its still less than the ZR1's 638hp. The Vette's lighter too. That and the ZR1 can be had for $40k less. Hell the "base" ZR1 is "only" $103k
So ZR1 looks better, has more power, is lighter, and is less expensive. Looks like the GTR loses in every aspect.

They also took a V Spec out to the ring' and ran a quicker time than the ZR1 (which if I recall right ran over 40 times)after 1 run (though was with a stopwatch) by quite a substantial amount if my memory serves me correct. Not only that, the V Spec WILL have more power and infact be lighter as well as handle better than the regular R35 GTR. If you had to ask me between the V spec R35 and the ZR1, I would say in this case the V Spec > ZR1.
BTW, the ACR looks like it will take your sould and eat it. By far the meaniest looking car eva!

Re: 3000gt's/Stealth very own off topic thread: Part Quatre
Viper ACR 7.22
Nissan GT-R V-Spec 7.25 (unconfirmed)
Corvette ZR1 7.26
Nissan GT-R 7.29
You're talking about a few seconds difference on a 10 mile track...not that you're ever going to get to drive around the ring anyways. In real life they're all equally as fast. Stricly talking about numbers, the V-spec > the ZR1....but is it really worth $50K more?
Anyways, a nissan spokesperson said that the V-Spec is not the ultimate GT-R. so apperently there's an even more badass (and expensive) GT-R in the works...maybe a track car version?

More and more articles are saying the Vspec wont come with any more power over the GTR. Its improvements will be slightly less weight and a different suspension set up.

I agree that I'd take the ACR, hands down. Also, the time for the ACR could have been better if they raised the rev limit by about 200-300 RPM and get someone that can learn to shift. They should get Sabine.

Whats wrong with the profile? The profile is one of the best things on a Viper.

Yeah, I like the profile as well. And while I am not real big into those wings, it is indeed necessary...my God that is a big wing.

top cars that i HATE;
Minis (all of them, new and old)
All hybrids (overrated, overpriced, and you'd get better mileage from a diesel)
Honda Element
Chevy HHR

Re: 3000gt's/Stealth very own off topic thread: Part Quatre
I did end up watching last night with about 5 or so other fellow 3S'ers. It wasn't a bad movie but there could have been more racing. I'd say it was worth watching.
On a side note I washed my car thouroughly yesterday only to find rain today and snow tomorrow. I did snap a quick picture of it in the wash.
