I have a 95 Probe SE auto and it wont go in to gear and the overdrive light is flashing on the dash, im thinkin the tranny went out and i wanna know if u have to pull the motor to get the tranny out or if u can get it out from the side.

Re: 95 SE car wont go in to gear
Welcome to the forum. Check if you have a brake light. It won't come out of park if you don't. I've found that it is easier to pull both and then do your work on it. The tranny can be dropped from underneath if you want to go that route.

Re: 95 SE car wont go in to gear
Shouldn't be hard to drop it from the bottom if you can get it high enough on jack stands. 2-3 feet.
If it won't go in any forward gearshift lever position, but reverse is OK the problem could be the forward clutch worn, one way clutch worn or the oil flow to the forward clutch being blocked. |
