Re: transmission problem
Did you use ATF+4 fluid????
Check the wiring connection at the solenoid pack for moisture, tranny fluid or looseness. Also take the connector off the TCM and check for corrision. Do a search using limp mode and you may find some more tips. |

At the house I realized I did not her the usual noises from the solenoid pack when I shifted it into gear. I swapped the relay with the fuel pump relay & it would BARELY idle. I went to the auto parts store & purchased a new relay, about $7.00. Was back to normal! The ATX relay was defective, When I swapped it with the fuel pump relay it was not getting enough voltage to the fuel pump.

Re: transmission problem
Looking at TRNW page:
http://www.trnw.net/tour-fixdata1.php#1 The one entry there says the EATX relay is the problem. |

Re: transmission problem
No matter what is causing his problem, he certainly needs to get whatever wrong fluid was used out of there and replace with atf+4 (or +3, if there is any available.) Anything but either of those fluids will kill the tranny for sure, if it isn't already.

Peter, You raise a good point. I only use dealer transmission and P.S. fluids in my cars. I've been burnt in the past and so it's worth a little extra money for peace of mind. Only exception, was that when I flushed my vovlo's tranny, I uses mobel 1 synch. stuff. That's because the dealer said it was better. Best Regards, Stan
