Chevy Impala Cluster.
Ok Well I was looking at ebay and I found an intreament panel and I am looking to replace my OEM One with this one.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-...4506.m20.l1116 Will this work? I like how this is set up better than the OEM one. Thanks in advance and all help would be great. Thanks |

Re: Chevy Impala Cluster.
A 2001 cluster will fit, and will work, however, the Brake light will be on all the time, due to software changes between 01 and 02.
In addition, whatever mileage is on the new cluster will show up when you plug it in, since the mileage is stored in the cluster. You can get the mileage changed to match what is on your car now. Try this link: http://www.bbengineer.com/ He can also help with any other service for the cluster. |

Re: Chevy Impala Cluster.
Yes, an 02 cluster will work. You do not have to do anything to the car, the RPM signal is already sent to the cluster, even though you do not have RPM right now.
Any cluster from 02-05 will work. However, if you have the 3.4L engine, and get a cluster with an oil pressure gauge, that gauge will not work. The 3.4L does not have the right type of oil pressure sending unit to talk to the cluster. |

Re: Chevy Impala Cluster.
Clusters from 2002 - 2005 are all compatible, so you don't have to find specifically an 02 cluster.

Re: Chevy Impala Cluster.
U11 is the RPO code for "POLICE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, CERTIFIED SPEEDOMETER" And I'm pretty sure that's the basic 3 gauge setup but has the 140mph speedo.
Randomly just brought this up on Ebay for ya, cuz i take it you just want a tach. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...4506.m20.l1116

Re: Chevy Impala Cluster.
Ok, does anyone know how to do it like BBEngineering did? I want to do it myself but I am not sure how he did it. Thanks

Re: Chevy Impala Cluster.
How he does what, change the millage?
The Millage is stored inside an EEPROM that is embedded in the processor in the cluster. It's not as easy as using an EEPROM programmer. Ah Found what i was lookin for: Quote:

Oh and I also found an 2003 Cluster and it works like a charm. Do you think if I take the Cluster to a Chevy Dealer, do you think they will change the mileage? |

Re: Chevy Impala Cluster.
It is unlikely that they will have the equipment needed. They will probably be able to send it off to someone, however, I'll bet it will be significantly more than the $55 BBE charges.

Re: Chevy Impala Cluster.
That's good information about the U11 option. Does anyone know what the UB3, UC9 or the UH8 options are?
