Re: Original delivered to...?

Well it's early, but here's my initial crack at it:

#007 was actually delivered to an Arab owner before ending up in the UK later on. Not sure which Arab country that was.

#015 was Germany from what I was told - it didn't come to the USA till 1999/2000

#023 may have been Japan - I will have to do some digging to prove that

#033 should be Germany I believe

#036 could be any number of places given the original owner (including the UK), but I while it was serviced there, I don't think Germany is correct

#044 had UK reg P354 JXP when it arrived in the USA in 1997 - not sure if that proves it went originally to the UK, but certainly not USA

#045 was in Germany before coming to the USA, again not sure of originality prior to that

#062 probably had a prior owner somewhere else - I don't think anyone but Lauren was the original owner of those Ameritech cars

#064 may not be correct - I think Sweden was just the first place it was identified

#067 was possibly a German car first as well

#072 might have been USA - don't quote me on that though.

That's it for now. Hope I didn't overlook something totally obvious.

Cool list man!

Are you sure on #051 - I thought it was only sold for that swedish guy via KS Autohandel in Germany?

On #016 - I'm not quite sure, but didn't you say yourself that it was originally delivered to Japan and was soon after sold to Germany...?
Or did I get something wrong / mixed up infos...?

BTW:
What else did you know about #036 & #075 - you saw both cars at Schaefer, right?

OK, thanks for the addition!

It seems I got something wrong, I always thought that the 7 Ameritech McLarens were especially built for the USA...?

BTW:
I read here, in a thread I can't find anymore, that #073 was originally a german car...

How about #028, wasn't it originally a part of the japanese fleet?

Re: Original delivered to...?

No on the Ameritech cars. Most were built during 1995 or 1996 and the cars were not imported to the USA until sometime the following year.

You may be right about #073. I don't recall at the moment.

You also might be correct about #028 as some of the earliest photos we have do show it there, but it was also in a display with chassis #036 at the Coys Festival at Silverstone in 1995. The earliest shots of it in Japan that I recall finding were taken in 1999. Bit of a gap there.

I read somewhere that McLaren especially brought #028 and #036 to the coys festival to put them on display.
If you look at the timeline it is no coincidence that it were those two cars!
#028 was built as 29th car and #036 as 30th car...
I think that both cars came fresh from the factory and haven't been delivered to their original owners yet back then.

Is there a possibility that #068 was originally an UK car?
I remember a photo of that car in a book with a UK style license plate...

Hi Erik

Have you got any pics of #044 wearing that plate?

068 was definatley originally a UK car. It was origianlly going to be Chris Dawes' car but he crashed (and killed himself and 2 others) in 017 before he took delivery

Concerning #051 I am absolutely sure - it ran almost in my neighborhood

That statement about #016 isn't from me

I don't know where #036 and #075 went first - in 2004 they had Switzerland plates

OK - thanks @ all!

I added the proven infos to post #1.
If I have some time today, I'll search for the infos on #016 and #073 which I've read somewhere here in this forum...

Re: Original delivered to...?

HAHAHA - That was fast...

The statement I refered to concerning #016 can be read here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...46&postcount=1

Also the 1996 TÜV-Plakette proves that the car was registered for the second time when it came to Germany, if it had been its first time it would have received one for 1997 as a 1994 car!
