1997 Ram Van: My headlight switch won't turn on all the way!

Hi,

Can someone help? I got in my van one night and my headlights would not turn on. I noticed that when I pulled the headlight switch it would only pull halfway. So, all I got were the "Orange" lights and rear lights. It seems like the switch is stuck and won't pull out all the way. I'd like to fix it myself, I have the dash cover off and can see the housing. Please help!

The switch is internally cracked or otherwise broken. You'll need to replace it.

Is it pretty easy to replace? I just need to buy the whole housing piece and the knob?

Yes it's easy. Just remove the instrument cluster trim and there will be a plate with 3 screws holding the switch. Remove that and the rest of the steps will be obvious. You'll be reusing the same knob so don't break it.

Sweet. Thank you so much. I have the part in my hand and I'm picking up the new part today! Thanks again.
