Exactly. the 5.7L V8 is the only V8 Chevy offers in it's cars, so it would be excellent in a monte carlo, or impala.

maybe their making cars ugly because their selling to many cars. i doubt it but it wouldn't be the first time that gm held to much of the market and had to make their cars less wantable because they didn't want the government going after them for owning to much of the market.

Like Microsoft, and their monopoly?
Hahaha, that could be. Way too many people are going foreign when it comes to cars. And I don't blame them with what Detroit offers anymore.
ALOT of time and money has gone into trucks and SUV's because all of a sudden, that's what everyone wanted. When it comes to trucks or SUV's, I go GM all the way because they "make" them better (as opposed to their cars) because they spend more to build them, to market them, to revise them..... as far as their cars, well that's another story. How many magazine ads or TV commercials do you see about their trucks compared to their cars? They don't concentrate on cars too much anymore. I think they pretty much gave this part of the share to Japan. But that's a pretty damn smart business move because what do they care? They have the more popular (more profitable)market....TRUCKS. It's like sharing a burger and fries with someone, "here, I'll keep the burger and you can have the fries, yes?"
Oh, makin me hungry. [Homer Simpson: "Mmmmm, buurgeeer"]

2006 Impala
Hey Everyone,
Well in fact the 2006 Impala will be rear wheel drive. I work for Gm and the rumors are true. The platform is going to be based off of the Aussie Holden. This car is made in Austrulia, but GM owns holden. The new 2006 impala will be Rwd with a gen 3 LS1 350 V-8. If you want go the GM website and look at there middleeastern line of cars. You will see that they offer a Caprice with the gen 3 LS1 engine. You will also see that they offer a lumina with a 350. It tends to seem that GM builds a better line of cars over in the middle east, then here in the us. This makes me sick. Link to Gm middle east website http://www.gmarabia.com/

I would think the 2008 model Impala will be when it gets a 350 and RWD because that will be the 50th year for the Impala. So i would think we will see it in fall of 2007.

Actually the engines are not the same depending on the year you look at. The new Impala SS will have 240hp which is 20hp less than a 2004 GTP but the same as earlier ones. A 2004 GTP will win in a race because of this and a couple other things like drive by wire.

let me rephrase that the engines are the same its the supercharger thats different or it might even be the same and they just made the gtp put more boost or computer upgrade(its only 20hp). you probably could fit the impala engine in your car with a little work.

It has been done before, you'll obviously need to do some fabrication to make it fit.

I'm sorry, why anyone would want a new Impalla SS is beyond me. They only make like 40 more HP over a standard Impalla.
Now the Impalla SSR is gonna be a sweet ride. I heard the SSR is gonna have the 5.7L LT1.
