EGCoupeVtec consider this your first verbal warning, do not come onto these forums and start talking trash about other people cars. If you have nothing constructive or helpful to add in this section, keep your negative degrading comments to yourself.

Re: 99 Z24 Cavalier Probs...

yes it is aftermarket and its a good possibility the security system is at fault because they seem to be the root of a bunch of problems because the car does not like being tricked by aftermarket systems and if even just one part of the system is not working like it should it will trigger tons of stuff including the anti theft because it thinks someone is trying to hot wire the car, when in reality a wire just came loose or something.

i have a remote starter with security system and once in while it will decide to turn the theft light on and not let me turn the car on, i have to go into the stearing column and wiggle wires around because they get pinched and cut off the signal, thats mostly due to the installer not running the wires right thus getting them pinched when i tilt the column up and down. so you may have a problem like this.

Fuck you ricer, Honda is the worst shit you can buy, V-TEC can fuck off, my Z24 eats all those little faggetrockets around here, I laugh at everyone who tries to race me when they are in a Honda, hell for fun, I go smash windows out of Hondas, how's that make you feel? Shove your rice up your ass, remember Cavaliers were built in North America, not JAPAN, you want Honda, move your wannabe chink ass and your JapScrap over the sea and yell about V TEC there, do not come on our forum and talk shit like this, also, learn to type, what are you 12?

AND as for your problem, check your ground, the one from your negative battery terminal to the body, it may not have a good connection.

Re: 99 Z24 Cavalier Probs...

EGcoupeVtec

Reason the car is acting up is because you have a class 1 wiring system from GM, and in 2000 they switched to a class 2 wiring system. The 2.4L motor got some upgrades like no more EGR valve, no more low impedance injectors, different knock sensor, etc. If you want those warning lights to go away, here is what you need to do...

Ok you use everything off your 99 2.4, like injectors, fuel rail, exhaust manifold, EGR. The only major thing you have to do it drill and tap a new hole for the knock sensor. The 2000+ use a different knock sensor (with a smaller hole). You need to use your 99 knock sensor which has a bigger hole.

Also a high impedance computer will run low impednace injectors, but a low impedance computer will not run high impedance injectors. So make sure your using the same injectors from your 99.

......and Rob...... Same warning goes for you about smash mouthing other peoples cars, No exceptions.
