Like for instance when you say a 2.5'' tip will cause backpressure in a 2.5'' exhaust system.
|
DUDE!!!! You are starting to REALLY PI$$$ me off here, THE FACT IS SMALLER EXHAUST EXITS EFFECT torque and HP, but you wouldn't know that because YOU think that just because the rest of the exhaust is 2.5 then having 2.5inch tips don't mean shit, well that shows just how much you know about exhaust.

Well I can and so can the ''majority'' but it doesn't seem like your mentallity level in quite as high as the average.
|
Man, i don't even know you. Only YOU Think that a Avenger with a 4in tip will look like crap. Man, you think everyone should go with your opinions and that your opinions are always CORRECT....I can pin point many of incorrect statements out of you buddy. Don't mess with me when it comes down to exhaust, i can make you feel 2 feet tall by the end of the day.
This is how much PWMAN knows about backpressure with 4cylenders

The stock cat gives plenty of backpressure. You could run straightpipe after the cat and have enough backpressure.
|
HAHAHA, A 4 cylender needs more back pressure than what a converter has to offer, if you took the muffler off it would sound LIKE A RICER right PWMAN, thats what i thought, Then said a dynomax super turbo, because you didn't realize how STUPID that comment was. I can't stop laughing, lol "you could run straightpipe after the converter and still have enough backpressure" lol, how about not enough and a loss of about 15-20HP! Backpressure is what makes the 4cylender engines make HP, it don't matter that much to V-6 or V-8's. The point across this is, the Stock Cat give hardly any back pressure. Even if it were pluged, it is only going to hurt the 4cylender's HP.

Wow I don't know where to start.
You said about my opinion on a 4'' tip looking bad, what about your opinion that it would look good? Hypocrite
And about the cats- If the stock one doesn't provide enough backpressure than why do they make higher flowing ones???
LOL, I can't stop laughing and YOU! I was agreeing with you about the super turbo muffler, it's what YOU recommended-I was agreeing. And 15-20 HP loss??? HAHA you are so retarded. You could run open headers and it wouldn't loose that much. 5 HP loss at worst.
This is YOUR statement- ''backpressure is what makes the 4 cylinder engines make HP''. Right, that's why they make aftermarket free flowing products right? Oh wait, the stock exhaust provides more backpressure, it must make more power right?

Free flowing cats were designed for the bigger engines like v-6 and v-8's. They wont mean shit if you put one on a 4 banger.

To gain more HP with the v-6 and v-8 because THEY DON'T NEED ALOT OF BACKPRESSURE. GOD you are sooo damn stupid!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, well the only think you know is what you read out of catelogs. Sure they are going to say how well there products are going to be so you can buy them. You must believe everything you read in exhaust magazines.

Shit, 5 at the worst? you are crazy have you ever taken a muffler off a 4 cyclender car before and seen how POORLY the car ran? if it lost 5hp it would be kind of hard to noticed and were are you dyno records PWMAN you think you are so right?

Noticed how i suggested the SUPER TURBO muffler that won't cut away back pressure like a flowmaster 40 series?
God, i should give you that award again........

Lets see what PWMAN does when get works with exhaust. Hmmm, he reads the back of the box. reads the cfm flow charts. Aww, i see this muffler flows more than flowmasters or magaflows...OK i'll GeT it. PWMAN, if you only had a way of checking the air flow through mufflers and be able to do backpressure tests you would know.....

The more HP you have the less backpressure you need. SIMPLE

Dynomax Super Turbo flows more than the Flowmaster 40 series
It's only 5 more CFM, but still it's more.
I drive a turbocharged 4 cylinder and a V8 truck, so yes I look at the flow chart and thats how I determine how to get MY mufflers. Neither of them need backpressure.
And it looks like you are such a hypocrite, calling me stupid now.
I never disagreed that putting a 3.5'' tip will not deepen the tone, I know that it will.
So you never owned up about the LSD thing. OK so maybe you know about exhaust but you know jack shit about differentials.
BTW I don't read any exhaust magazines, do they even make any? I barely read any magazines at all, just 4 WHEELER and things like JEGS or SUMMIT.

You contradict yourself so much. First it's 4 cylinders need more backpressure than V6 and V8's. Now it's just the more HP the less backpressure you need. So now you are saying if a V8 makes as much HP as a 4 cylinder they need the same exhaust? You are very mistaken if this is what you are thinking. Good to see you find some of your own mistakes

huh? i said that 4 cylenders need more back pressure from the start. And then i said that the more HP you have, the less back pressure. Thats why you see nascar and race cars with no mufflers and performance headers. I'm not trying to say that if a 4 cylender has 300HP, it don't need a muffler or anything. I'm trying to stay in the stock range here. I was trying to say that a stock 1.8, or 2.0 4cyclender need more backpressure than a stock 3.8 or 5.0 something. Thats all.

I'm not trying to say that AT ALL.

Exhaust
I have Apex-i Exhaust on my 96 Avenger i like it a lot the only prob is that is i really loud so if you dont want loud dont get it. It has a 4 inch tip with a 2.5 inlet Price is around 200 so if you dont want to spend that much then nevermind but think about this you get what you pay for.
If you want to look at it on my car to see if you like it click the link http://www.cardomain.com/id/nightavenger

And he is right about 4-bangers need more backpressure that is why they make them with more of a compression ratio.

backpressure is what u are trying to get rid of
exhaust velocity is what u want to increase...
people who say BACKPRESSURE IS NEEDED are using the wrong term.
get a flowmaster 40series with 2.5" custom mandrelbent catback from midas... thats all u need.... dont touch the cats unless u have a V6

Re: Which Exhaust System should I get
has anyone ever tried putting Flowmaster 40 series or Ravin Z33s on these cars? would that sound right? I have a 2.5 v6, and I think im going to go with the Flowmaster 40s.
