505 bored out?

I'm wondering if anyone knows what the new 505.5 cubic inch engine is capable of being bored out to?? I believe the 488's were able to safely go to 550, wonderin if this could go to more?? Anyone know??

Im not completely sure, but I think you can bore one of these out to 550+ cubic inches. Aslong as the cylendar walls are not to thin......

Yeah. I know for sure it can probably be 60 over... 600ci max. If you were to want more Cubic Inches then You would have to go to a different Cam Shaft.

why would you bore out a viper engine IMO is plenty big. I don't think even the gts-r (full spec racing) was bored out. If you really want some insane power just slap a twin turbo. With 6 psi you'll probablly be over 700 horses easily.

My guess would be looking for 1500HP + That would be crazy i'd think. But people love that HP and big motors these days. I rather have a Hog block bored out, but that would be too much weight and hard on gas. Oh well, its ass kickin Horsepower isn't it? BTW, you got your bragging right of saying " yeah, i got a 600ci V-8 with a Supercharger with 14:1 compression" Its may not be true for everyone, but it is for some....

Yes its plenty big thats for sure. The Twin Turbo's and Superchargers come after you have reach the 800HP mark

I'm sure it's capable of over 550.

Why????
Isn't 450HP enough. Over 1000HP would be uncontrolable unless you were an expert or did something else with it. Like Drag Slicks.

no i'm talkin bout the new Viper engine, it's 505.5 base form, if I did the calculation right it should come out to around 567.5 c.i. does that sound right if you were to bore it out about .060"?

Hey scott, kiss my ass, because I do have the calculations right here.

The Formula.
Bore x Bore x Stroke x # of pistons x .7854 x 16.387 = Displacement cc

The Bore of the new viper is 4.03
The Stroke of the new viper is 3.96

4.03 x 4.03 = 16.2409
16.2409 x 3.96 = 64.313964
64.313964 x 10 = 643.13964
643.13964 x .7854 = 505.121873256
505.121873256 x 16.387 = 8277.432137046072

So that rounds down to 8277cc.

So scott, go search the internet and do your homework.

Ah, I almost forgot. 16.387 is the conversion for inches cubed to centimeters cubed. So the Displacement of the new viper in inches is ???????

505.121873256 inches cubed. So that would be 505 inches cubed.

Scott, both numbers are right, so if you want to know the displacement of your 3.8. just ask.

This forever proves that I know the most about VIPERS
