Yes you.
And your wrong about the EVO Hp number. No one yet knows the US versions true hp, but the version sold to the rest of the world has well over 300hp, I see no reason why the US spec one should be any less.
(the 271hp, is a conversion from the 280ps quoted hp for the EVO VII, its not the cars true hp).
phatdex The WRX is a very common car when compared to the EVO, even the STi model is made in higher numbers.
It means it gets a lot more surport from aftermarket companies both inside and outside of Japan.
Here in NZ there are at least 3 aftermarket Shops in Auckland alone that specialise in nothing but Subarus, (mostly WRX's). But there is no one who specialises in Mitsi's, (or EVO's)
However due to the rarity and somewhat vicious nature of the EVO, as well as its rally success, and the fact that the WRX is now old news you will tend to see more EVO's presented in magazines and mgazine style car programs.
They are also becoming a lot more popular in Drag racing since the 4g63 is a much cheaper and easier engine to tune than the FJ20 in the WRX, and the EVO driveline is a bit stronger. And of course a lot of drag racing is based around Image, and at the moment the EVO has a "cooler" Image than the WRX.
The reality is there is very little between the EVO VII(I) and the WRX STi in terms of performance, and no real justifiable reasons why one car is better than the other. Both are just as reliable, and at the end of the day just as easy to tune.
However both have slightly differnt chracters, and differnt ride, and a differnt feel when driven. Which car is better in that regard is totaly up to the individual, and both cars should be driven before a choice is made.
Im also going to close this thread.
It dosnt really belong here, and theres no point moving it as there are several similar discussions going on in here:
