Cool Fuel Sending Unit

My 95 Trooper Is Leaking Gas And My Mechanic Says That I Need A New Fuel Sending Unit. It Has Not Been Removed Yet. Mech Also Yold Me I Need To Buy A New Sending Unit They Cant Rebuil It. I Found A Site In Ny And All They Do Is Rebuild Sending Units. For My Trooper They Want $150.00 And Get 1 Year Warranty. They Seem Like The Real Deal. My Dealer Wants $400.00 For New Unit. I Have 155,000 On My Trooper And Just Put $2,000.00 Into It For Brakes Rotors & Tires. Body Is Excellent. Am I Better Off Getting The Rebuild Sending Unit Or The New Part. Also How Much Labor Time Will It Take To Replace New Sending Unit. The Mechanic Is Old Friend But I Am Looking For Someone That Has Had A Similar Problem And Knows What They Are Doing. Can Anyone Help Me.
Thank You
