alternator putting out wayyy to many amps

Hi folks
I have a 87 ford E 350 ambulance I'v disconnected the extras a couple of years ago, what started a couple of days ago as a squealing belt(I put dressing on the belt to stop the squealing) and dancing gages has grown into a problem of my 160 amp alternator putting out close to 200 amps, the volt Gage is showing 14/15.And they are still dancing. The harness coming up under the seat gets rather warm.I have a externally regulator mounted under the dash inside of the Van.Any words would be appreciated .
Thanks

Put a voltage meter on the battery and check the voltage. I think your voltage regulator is going bad.
Auto Zone and Advanced check the systems free.
