Pug 206 WRC 2000 (a couple of progress pics)

Hi again.

Well, as I have the camera for another day, and the weather doesn't allow to take outdoot pics of the Bimmer, I decided to share the pics of the Pug I'm kinda working on. This model has been on hold for more than about two months now

Anyway, this is the first time I made seatbelts ou of masking tape (although the part on the seat itself is the decal from the box - the last time, I promise I know there might be some inaccuracies as far as the interior goes, but I'm fairly happy with the way the chassis has turned out.

Comments and suggestions are welcome as always.

This is a project I hope to see more pictures since I have this same model to build.
I think you have made a great job with the belts. Although it’s “just” an extension to the decals the final result is a good improvement on the model realism. The tire supports also are great.

I never bothered too much about an interior being not 100% accurate. As long as you as the builder enjoy building it, and as long as it looks right, then there is no problem. The way you did the belts is for sure the cheapest way to add realism and it really works well. Next time make the extensions a bit smaller and why not cut the seatbelt decals out and glue them directly to the seat, so they are a bit thicker too.

Keep us informed on how it goes!!

Guido

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Yes, next time I'm making "proper" seatbelts, but I wanted to try this technique and see where it lands me.

Lovely little car

Bear with me on this one. This is the kit that I'm trying new things with, and these things scare me! This is the first time I'm using automotive paints through the airbrush, so next I need to clearcoat the damn thing (also using automotive clearcoat for the first time). I really need to build the goddamn spraybooth!

Mine is planned for this X-mas holiday period. I have 2 weeks off then, and I'm hoping to get mine done then.

Re: Pug 206 WRC 2000 (a couple of progress pics)

Warning: old thread sort of resurrected.

Here's a little update: almost all the decals are on and I detailed the wheels 30 minutes ago. Here are some pics:

Wheels

Body

Same boring boot

Underside

The body already has a coat of clear on it, which was applied 1 year ago or so , hope to finish it within a couple of weeks. Thanks for looking.
