Camshaft pos. sensor, 95 Eldorado
I have the code P041 which I've found to indicate that I need a new Cam sensor. I bought a new AC Delco cam position sensor but I can't even find where it goes under the hood.
Do I need to remove the plastic "Northstar" engine cover between the heads? I understand the sensor is located on the rear cyl. bank, passenger side. Has anyone done this repair or have any tips? Also, I have code P024 which Chilton's says has to do with speed sensors circuit problem. Can anyone give me advice on fixing this. Me speedometer only works about half the time and I'm thinking it's related to this code. The car actually runs really well and I do my WOT's at least once a week. They are invigorating to say the least, even with the ESC Northstar! Take care thanks for reading this post. shawn |

For specific info here I would suggest a factory manual if you are going to tackle these more involved repairs on a N' Star, or Alldata.com has a 1 year subscription that covers everything.

Re: Camshaft pos. sensor, 95 Eldorado
Thanks Maxwedge,
I browsed Ebay for a 95 Eldorado factory manual but no dice. BTW, I'm avoiding my local Cadillac dealer b/c I've been there once and they are shit heads. I got a subscription to ALLDATA today. Looks promising and definately worth the money. I'm going for it this wknd (replacing my camshaft position sensor) So I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again |
