Well.. the holes in the exhaust and leaks at the manifold negated any clogs...

Listen, a 2.8 V6 in that heavy assed vehicle was about as worthless as pissing up a rope. ANY improvement whatsoever, and yes - that includes stickers and air fresheners, made that thing faster... I swear to GOD!

And what are you getting pissed off about, dear brother?

I'm not a tree hugger by any means But I'd like my grandchildren to have every opportunity available to them that I might not have experienced, and not have slap on a damn radiation suit if they're going outside due the false presumption that disabiling emissions devices might actually add 1.5 HP.

BWWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! Son (brother), all the cars in the US without catalytic converters wouldn't amount to a pimple on a fly's ass as far as China and Africa are concerned with their pollution output. Hell, there was a study published about a year ago that said Mt St Helens last eruption put out more pollution than we have since we've been on the Earth.

Hate to say it, but if our grandkids are going to have to wear radiation suits, it ain't because of us. You woulnd't happen to be friends with a fella named Albert Gore would you?

And besides... if they designed the damned catalytic converters right in the first place, they would work so well that there would be NO performance difference at all. (It was much more than 1.5 hp.)

Another though... when the converters are done, and replaced... where do the old ones, taht have all that contamination go... Landfill??? Where they then get rained on... and seep into the aquifers and taint the water supply??? This goes on forever.

Have a beer, smoke a cigarette, do a burnout (without cats) and have a nice bon fire in the back yard... you're giving yourself (and humankind) too much credit for the demise of the ecosystem.

Oh, I see

What was i thinking Shit, refire the mills, I miss the black plumes of the smokestacks anyway. Tell BP all the water resources in the world is their to dump in, i mean utilize. I'll call up Mattel and advise them they aren't putting enough lead in their paint for the toys every kid loves to put in their mouth, no biggie, not enough to kill yourself over, jeez, parents should be watching their damn kids anyway right?

And finally, what the hell, why are turning the glory of the automotive world over to computers???

GM, Mr Lutz, when my 5th gen's hood gets opened for the first time, I better be starring at a tri-powered, obscene cubic inch motor, that thrives on leaded gasoline, that's where all the power went. (toss a Dennis Leary CD in the player too, and big brown baby seal eyes for head lights )

WHY? well if natural emissions over the course of a few months, outweighs all of the pollution of the human race, then wow, we're up to what 4 significant earthquakes within a month's time around the 'Pacific ring of fire' so there must be volcano eruption emminent here soon so who gives a rat's ever so clean hiney?

I'd post up more, but I gotta go, I'm goin' home early and taking that whole useless exhaust system off my Corolla, that bitch will be screaming fast tomorrow, ooh, and the track just reopened too, wander what she'll run in the 1/4?,

Re: Yeeeeeeehawww!

YEAH! And something sorta like this setup, I'll bet it gets cripsy cold in there... probably still run low 6's on max ac!

The only thing that could make that any better is taking one of these and mounting it up and a hood ornament...

But then you'd have to get a tattoo like this:

And cover it up with a shirt like this, when you're trying to be respectable:

Otherwise someone might think:

Re: Yeeeeeeehawww!

I think that's for real. If you look at it, you can see the reflections in the paint, etc.... if that's a photoshop, someone needs a girlfriend.

Re: Yeeeeeeehawww!

Catalytic converters are "estimated" to account for 50% of total nitrous oxide (dinitrogen oxide, 'laughing gas') emissions to atmosphere. While N2O emissions in these concentrations are not harmful to human health, it is a potent greenhouse gas, accounting for around 7% of the overall greenhouse effect despite its small concentration in the atmosphere. The California Air Resources Board is investigating this issue, and will introduce legislation to address it if necessary.
[1]
It can be argued that catalytic converters have reduced toxic emissions and smog at the expense of increased greenhouse gases, however anyone making this argument should consider the California Air Resources Board reports on improvements in Air Quality that have been achieved over the last 30 years.

hm. some researching on my part. (wikipedia, its pretty interesting...look it up guys )

so: in hawaii, we dont get smog cuz the trade winds blow everything away.. (to china? idk)
so it sbetter to run NO cats so we dont create greenhouse gasses. eh? ehh? anyone with me?

Don't forget we are also over due for a geomagnetic polarity reversal, during which we lose our dipole field and be subjected to increased cosmic radiation.

we - create emissions - emissions are pollutants - pollutants cause mutations - mutations are a form of cancer - cancer leads to death - death is what's coming to us
