I'm no expert but I have seen that procedure posted elsewhere as the standard procedure for doing a crank relearn with a Tech II scanner (GM's proprietary software.) I believe it is crucial that the engine is operating at temperature, though, so if you were doing it from a cold start, you might want to warm it up and try again.
The guys who did mine (on my truck) were using a Snap-On scanner but I believe they followed generally the same procedure. And it took several seconds at WOT before the scanner indicated that it was done.
If it doesn't work with the engine warmed up, I would be going to customer support at AutoEnginuity as it's likely something peculiar with the Intrigue.
Sorry I can't be of more help. There are other forums out there that may be more useful...ones for other GM products where you can swap PCMs (Vettes, chevy trucks, etc.) You may want to do some more searching. As far as I know there are no PCM upgrades for the Intrigue so folks here may not be able to help.
