97 Park Avenue 3800 oil leak
My mothers Park Avenue with a 3800 has an oil leak, I put it up on the lift last night checking to see if the drain plug in the pan was the culprit. The drain plug was about the only piece that I can say for sure wasn't leaking. The oil pan had drips on all of the bolts, but all of the bolts were tight. There was no evidence as to where the leak was, it looks like the fans are blowing oil making it look like more than it is. The car drops about 1/2 quart of oil between changes. I didn't run the motor with the car in the air although I probably will later, I just wanted to check here first to see if there are any most likely trouble spots that I should check first. Thanks in advance for any clues. opcorn:

Clean it up and try to see.
Is the belt soaked too? Could be the timing cover seal, it makes a huge mess when bad. |
