CD Player

No, I have never used a burnt CD and I bought the vehicle from a private owner. Once in awhile, the player will play and then the next time it reads err. I wonder if there is a special setting or button I should be pushing.

Also am having this problem with my 97 Bravada. Very frustrating. Haven't found a solution to it except to maybe replace the CD player. Any solutions you've heard of?

I purchased a delco cd radio off ebay and installed it only to find out that the cd player did not work. I kept getting a err message. There is a place in Houston TX called Dr Dons: www.doctordons.com/carstereo.htm

He was able to repair, deliver, and warrenty it for a year for around $170.00 Good luck

My parents had the same problem with their delco Cd player. Just replace it, it's cheaper. my Pop put a basic Pioneer in the delco's place and hasn't had any problems since. And $170 is too much for a factory deck.

Re: CD Player problems

Yes it would be nice to have a purty new toy in my rig. But, sorry I like to keep my stuff oem. It was pay $1200 for a new radio or $170 to have the old one repaired. I chose the latter. It's all choice. Have a good one.

Smile CD Problem Fixed

I had problems with my cd player 2002 Silverado , message ERR , radio still worked but CD's would eject back out in 2-3 seconds and I would hear something buzzing even with truck and radio turned off. My warranty was out and the dealer wanted about $400. The buzzing got to bothering me, so I took the fuse out and in for the radio in the driver side dash corner, still messed up. Then I raised the hood and removed the radio fuse from the big box on drivers fender then put it back in. THE ERROR WENT AWAY AND MY CD PLAYER WENT BACK TO WORKING. Hope this works for everyone

Another possibility is to find the reset button. They are sometimes very hard to find. If you have a manual or can download one off the net, they will usually tell you where to find it. I had a stock stereo that did the same thing...got frustrated...went and bought a $1200 Pioneer system...did the same thing...got frustrated again...took it back to the dealer and then was shown where this tiny little reset button was that I had to stick a pin in. Works fine now. Anytime I run the battery down or have any wierd things happen I have to hit that reset button again (not very often, maybe once or twice a year). Hope that helps!

CD error/eject

Hi guys, have a '97 blazer and I play CD's that are burned had the same problem at one time.I too thought it was the CD's made from home, but this is not the case.

I noticed that new CD's seemed to work just fine, but sometimes the player would just eject, over time, it got worse.

What I did was to take out the radio/cdplayer take off the chassis housing the CD and cleaned the CD optical head with a Q-tip and a good glass cleaner. To be honest, I think there is quite a bit of dust thrown up in that area of the dashboard, being close to the vents and all. The CD player has an "eye" that will probably show to be quite dirty.

After cleaning it, plug it in, and give it a test run. Hopefully that fixes your problem too, and only takes an hour.
