How do you guys fight the high humidity here? It really affects the gloss factor. Spray in an air-con room? Or does anyone know where to find a food dehumidifier here?

hey,
better not spray in an air con room.
as the fumes are actually poisonous and will react with your body in the long run. do not inhale too much...
I normally spray them in the morning and leave them to dry in the box to prevent dust and other factors...

Err...Tamiya and Gunze paints aren't that hazardous actually, though it may stink. The problem is the moisture in the air reacts with the paint, and causes it to lose out on gloss. If we were in a cooler climate, one would be surprised at how much easier it is to turn out a glossier coat...

well...all along i do not have problems with the gloss on the paints. i do not wax or polich my cars either. Just remember to spray paint during the day only. you can take a look at my (Jason) blue GTR34 in the guest garage of srixy's website, sr-garage.com, just Tamiya Mica blue and clear only.
IMO, the techniques of spray painting is very important to attain smooth, even and glossy paint work.:flamer:

hey guys just came from a trip down in Singapore and decided to check out the R-tuned-in store at Grand Link Square. Just bought about US$100 worth of stuff from there. Very complete store and it was difficult to decide what to buy! Bought 7 sets of rims, s2000 v-spec, tamiya r33 skyline and the Accord Sir wagon. The owner, David, is a really nice guy. So if ever you're in singapore, you definitely have to check that place out if you're a car or bike modeller

Wong,
Regarding the brake discs, its just a mixture of Tamiya spray can, semi-gloss and pure white (straight from the spray can). Nothing difficult about it just that some spraying skills involved. Everybody can do that.:flamer:

hi forhod, it took me more than an hour to find that place! should have checked the map that was posted here by skyline, I got lost at aljunied. I would have spent more too but didn't have anymore money They also have a few metal mufflers left for S$8.50 I should have picked one up. If ever I'm in singapore again I'll definitely check that place out

Hi Jason,
What and how do you use for masking? I've always screwed on getting a circular mask.

Although I am quite aware that I ain't Jason :finger4: (thanks for noticing)
But I just put masking tape over the circle thing and cut it out with an exacto. (although sometimes it doesn't turn out circular.
