Air Conditioning not cool enough.
I have a 2004 Aveo M/T and live in a tropical area wher the weather can get really hot. My problem is everytime I use my Aveo after I park under the sun for a long time, the air conditioning won't get cool. I already set the blower to max position. It takes more than half an hour to make the whole cabin cool. Does anyone have this problem (in the summer perhaps)? Thanks.

Re: Air Conditioning not cool enough.
It's hard to say if there's something wrong or not without testing for it. You could have a leak or the compressor crapping out. It would get progressively worse over time though, to eventually failing completely.
I don't know where you live, but it's not at all unusual for a parked car sitting in the baking sun to take a long time to cool off. It's all those plastic panels and upholstery that get hot and take a long time to cool off, not just the air in the car. You might try getting a complete window tinting for your car to help; even a light 50% tint will drastically reduce the interior heat of a parked vehicle. |

Re: Air Conditioning not cool enough.
Hey, thanks for your reply yaw..
By the way, I've checked all the airconditioning system, there doesn't seem to be any leak at all. I've already had a 60% window tint on. My first thought that this is pretty normal, cuz I feel the airconditioning not cool enough (compared to cars in the same class) since the fist time I bought the car. But I haven't tried other Aveos though. But if the weather is not very hot, the airconditioning works perfectly. Well, what do you think? What can I do to make it cooler? |

How is the cabin filter if it has one?
To check AC system put a set of AC gauges on it and give us the pressure readings low and high side at idle and at 2000 RPM. What is the vent output tempt? MT
