1/8 Pocher Volvo Globetrotter... Possibly the biggest model ever!

This is one of my favorite models in my collection. It took me close to two months to build. With over 1000 parts, it is beautifully detailed and I built it stock. The thing is HUGE. It's over two feet long and weighs about 20lbs. I know its a truck, and I'm not really into them, but this one is special and I really love sharing it with others. Enjoy!

The only painting I did on the kit were the turned metal parts which were sprayed with Testors Model Masters Aluminum Plate. The rest looked beautiful just the way they were... well, that and I was too afraid to risk making a mistake on something so rare and expensive.

Ahh yes, I have built this one too and stupid me sold it to a haulage firm.

There is a rumour that several of the Pocher models could be re-released. The Ferrari's and trucks specifically, I haven't heard anything about this for quite a while though.

I heard about this rumor for some years now as well. From what I heard, and I'm not sure how accurate it is, the Pocher factory burnt down or something and all the tooling was lost. My biggest mistake was not buying the f40 back in the mid 90's. It was for $199 back then! Granted I was 13 at the time and it seemed like a ridiculous amount of money, but they are selling for 500+ on ebay these days. My best purchase ever was probably the RR Torpedo. Got that one for $700 a few years ago. Now, if you are lucky enogh to find one, they are going for well over $1K. Still though, there is nothing quite like a Pocher.

It is, in 1/43 scale. It's a pretty rare limited edition, made for Brumm's 20th anniversary. I bought it in Italy quite a few years ago.

That thing is enormous! It looks really nice, actually, straight from the box. Soe paint work would have improved it, though. Still, fantastic build up. Must've taken ages!
