Engine Clunky Noises

almost 4 years old now, and the engine started to make this clunky noise since last winter, it gets quite cold up here, so I was not sure if the cold affected the engine performance. I had a semi annual maintenance and check up, everything came out okay, but the noise still didn't go away. And since we just came back from a long trip, the noise is getting worse. Is it suppose to be like this as the car ages, or is there something seriously wrong. I had a Dodge Neon before this car, the same noise was there, and then one day the transmission blew out on me, and that was it for that.

Re: Engine Clunky Noises

Can you describe if you hear the noise at a specific location in the engine such as front or rear? Does the noise get louder with rpm or is it constant? What size engine does the car have in it and how many miles? Are there any vibrations when driving such as a certain speed and etc. All of this information would be a help in trying to determine your problems.
