Efini (99-02) Twin Turbos ???

My friend is deciding to get one of these JDM turbos from someplace, but was expecting to buy them under $1000. I looked up at a couple places and average about 2300-2500 for the Efini's. He doesnt really know how to look up and buy them in the internet, plus that he doesnt know much about the 13b rew and the fd3s it self. me, i'm just from the Eclipse/Talon/Evo area and i'm just trying to help him find a cheap jdm turbo kit. well, im not sure if some mods are similar, but here was my list to him and just wondering if you guys can okay this list, hell, it might be off by a sh*t load but im all pistons. (hahahha)
- 99-02 jdm efini twin turbo kit
- greddy v-mount fmic
- hks bc
- greddy turbo timer
- after market 3" exhaust system
im just wondering, will this jdm turbo kit be a direct bolt on? will the oil feed/return lines bolt right on? will he need an upgraded exhaust manifold?
my friend is just doing this because supposively we ran 17s all F****** DAY at the tracks. he told me the problem was an apex seal and something with the internal wastegates not opening...........????? help and thanks!!!

Re: Efini (99-02) Twin Turbos ???

Why does it have to be JDM? JDM is just a fad...

Any turbine kit would do... but what car are you slapping this on? For some reason, it doesn't sound like an FC to me... FDs comes with twin turbvs already? If your friend has a problem with his apex seals.. I'm surprised he got anything better than a DNF.

I'm really confused.

Re: Efini (99-02) Twin Turbos ???

i bought the efini's, and they are direct fit. i paid 2800 i believe. the benefits of the efinis are they put out more hp. bout 25-30..... too bad my mechanic totaled that shit!!!! azzhole..
17's on the track is horrible for a 3rd gen. must b messed up good. he probably need more fuel to start with. and for a turbo, there is cheap alternatives to the efinis. go on ebay, or get the greddy single turbo.

17's on the track is horrible for a 2nd gen too, even N/A.

--- using cheap and turbo in the same sentence should be outlawed ---

I'm really confused.

hes talking about his friend's FD.

The 99+up turbos are more efficient than the earlier models, which is why its a common upgrade. And they are JDM because they only exist in that market.

And to the OP, an apex seal problem means he needs an engine rebuild. (not as bad as it sounds).

Re: Efini (99-02) Twin Turbos ???

yeah, but just wondering if that mod list is "alright". Don't know for sure, but i was jus lookin up some single turbo kits, but there's like another $3-$5k to spend on making it a daily driven fd3s. thanks though!

Re: Efini (99-02) Twin Turbos ???

^^^ did you mean bigger injectors, more spark...???, and maybe a Apexi FC or the FCD? i don't know but its kinda funny because he's always cocky with the FD.....that only ran 17s, but yeah. I dunno what his RWHP goal is, but all i know is that i can beat him! hahaha, thanks!
