need help with air bag code b1001
I changed the driver seat and the airbag light came on. The SES light on the left side is also on. I put the original seat back and the lights are still on. I can clear the airbag code but comes right back. The ses light will not clear because it claims there are no codes present. Any help is appreciated. Thanks , Ed

Was the seat replaced electric or manual? Have you checked all connectors and wiring underneath land to the seat belt switch? Is the seat belt warning working? The light at the left hand side of the dash is the Service Vehicle Soon light and relates to the problem but a regular scanner will not reset it. Also, to reset the fault has to be corrected. The only other way I know of to get it reset is to take it to a GM dealer.

The only thing I can suggest is to disconnect the battery negative cable overnight. Some body and chassis codes seem to clear when that is done. Be sure to have your radio Theftlock codes (if active) before disconnecting the battery. Also, if you have a digital climate control system make sure it is in the off position.
