The 944 Porsche are really Porsche made and designed by hmmm Porsche. Yes the 924 is a VW/Audi but the 944 is not. The 944 is a great track car and it will blow away a Camero in the turns!

Your saying that a brand new 944 S turbo Coupe was for people who couldn't afford a 911? I do dislike the 914's though. Partly because in NFS5 they top out a 110 km/h. That dosen't really affected my disliking though.
