Re: Can you tell?

altho i do like the sound the tbi makes when you have the air cleaner lid off and you rev it up, but tpi still sound good. I know what you were talking about 6.

Re: Can you tell?

nah not really, TPI's are torque monsters, they lose it up top. but that's beside the point, if you wanna put that much power to the ground you're gonna hafta upgrade the TPI itself and that stuff will add up big time. Trust me, I looked into it myself cuz I was gonna make the switch to TPI, but TBI turned out to be the more economical choice. TBI done right can put over 500hp to the ground.

Re: Can you tell?

a tpi with the same mods as mine won't put out much more power at all, if even any at all. and there's a few supercharger choices available for TBI.

Re: Can you tell?

i was think of one of thoes aftermarket tpi system things. they have the tubes that run to it and the intake is all flat on top and is like a squar. It is soposed to help alot with it flating out at higher rpm's. But with the block i showed you guys, can i even run tbi on it?

Re: Can you tell?

any roots style blower for a carbed V8 can be used with TBI. They make adapters to put TBI's on carb manifolds.

Re: Can you tell?

well if you are going to spend the money that you say why not just use your block and have it bored over because a 305 and a 350 are about the same it is a small block chevy just have differant bores.

Re: Can you tell?

i know but if i have a 350 i can get more power for money, and i am tired of the 350. And this is my daily driver, so i will not have anything to drive while i am rebuilding the 305.

How do you figure that??? You get a junk yard 454 throttle body, bigger injectors and a tune and your set, maybe cost 300 to 400 bucks, less if you tune it yourself. Plus you can use any carb style intake manifold and an adapter plate, can't do that with TPI. I really don't thnk that you can easily or cheaply get 360 hp out of a stock TPI intake, if at all.

EDIT: I just looked throught the thread and geno pretty much said the same thing, guess I was a little late with this one
