Re: 2000 Blazer LS Vibration Problem
While they are balancing your tires, have them check them for out of round too. EXAGERATED EXAMPLE: If a tire is oval shape, they can still balance it perfectly, now roll it and see what happens!

Re: 2000 Blazer LS Vibration Problem
Does the problem occur in both 2HI and 4HI,or does it disappear in 4WD?

Guys, not meaning to be insistent, but don't start dabbling with your suspension until you have properly re-balanced the wheels.

It is possible for worn ball joints to cause a shimmy after going over bumps, but only if they, and the shocks, are extremely worn. As far as causing a vibration, you're barking up the wrong tree... absolutely not.

Re: 2000 Blazer LS Vibration Problem
If all else fails take Billibongs advice. For some reason I have re-curring problems with my passenger side ball joints, except on the right side it wears the outside of my tire, but if you are having a front end alignment done make sure they check the ball joints, tire rods, etc. Thay would and should tell you if anything in the front suspension needs to be replaced. If it is the ball joints, you can do it yourself, but you will need some loaner tools from Auto Zone, specifically a 36mm axle nut socket to take the bearing off the axle shaft, a torque wrench to put the nut back on, and a two prong fork to pop out the old ball joints(I forget the exact name of it, sorry) I'm sure there are directions to do the job somewhere on this site, if not, go to Auto Zones site.
PS Buy NAPA balljoints better quality than the rest.
