Mike Hezemans grabs FIA GT pole

The first 20-minute qualifying session for the FIA GT Championship saw Mike Hezemans claim pole position in the nr 4 GLPK Carsport Corvette C6, ahead of the Zakspeed Saleen S7 and the Phoenix Racing Aston Martin DBR9. The session was wet, although the rain had eased slightly. "It was all down to the tyres," Mike said of his Michelin-clad car. "They were so good, there was so much grip, it was fantastic. The track stayed very wet, and there was so much traffic, but I managed to get one free lap."

Ron Fellows got the GT1 pole at Houston and Olivier Beretta qualified second in GT1.

Beretta and Gavin won the race and finished 2nd overall. It is the highest finish in ALMS history for a GT1 car. Fellows and O'Connell finished second with the two factory Aston Martin DBR9s one lap behind.

There was contact made between the # 4 C6-R of Mike Hezemans and the # 2 Maserati MC12 of Thomas Biagi with 10 minutes to go in the second round of the FIA GT Championship at Brno (Czech Republic). Mike spun and stalled on the track and finished last in GT1.

Lou Gigliotti wins at Mid-Ohio

Lou captured his 25th pole.

Le Mans Test Day

Patrice Goueslard was fifth fastest in GT1 in his # 72 Corvette C5-R from Luc Alphand Adventures.

Oliver Gavin took third while Ron Fellows took fourth.

The two factory Corvette C6-Rs have qualified 3rd and 6th while the Luc Alphand Adventure's Corvette C5-R has qualified 8th. Their ex-factory C5-R won Le Mans in 2004.
