It does just what the name implies. Measures the temp of the air comming through the intake. The computer will use that along with the coolant temp sensor and O2 sensors to adjust the amount of fuel to use. A more modern and precice version of a choke.

ahhh, it is still of and I can get my inspection. I am going in, but I feel as if my rear brakes are going to cause me to fail.

I am still waiting to see if I have a MPG increase. I hope I do, if not there will be a new thread.
