Red face Help! all the gauges and meters on the instrument panel are not working!

I have a 99 Lexus 400, parked in a the garage for over 6 month with charging cable attached to the battery in the maintanence mode. Started ok, but the panel light is not on and all the gauges and meters are not working at all. All the other electronic equipment are working fine after the second start.
Checked all the fuses. Have the dealer checked all the fused too to find no problem. The car drives fine too.
Anybody can help? Highly appreciated!
Please send the response to my email: ussuli@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance!

My dealer said the capacitors were reversed charged so he disconnected some cable & it fixed the issue for $125 service charge. However he says that one of the circuit boards will eventually need to be replaced ($1,600). I don't know why he suggests that yet.

Re: Help! all the gauges and meters on the instrument panel are not working!

I had a similar problem whenever I stepped on the brake. At first intermittent and then the gauge lights went out completely. This has happened on two different LS 400's I have owned. $600 to fix on the first car and $30 on the second car. The reason?? there was a short in the left rear taillight assembly. I told the garage this on the second car and it took them fifteen minutes to fix. Don't know if this helps you.

This post is 3 years old. In the future please start a new thread unless there was no resolution to the orignal and you have the means to enlighten all of us. I'll wait a week before closing this thread.

La plata hun? I used to live in Waldorf. I was posting to bring it back to life to see if anybody who posted before me had a solution to the problem. Didn't mean to upset U.
