oh lol you had me worried, i thought you meant you were only going to change it every 1000km. but the first one at 1k is a really good idea lol. sorry for the confusion

To let everyone know,Snap-On tools now has a 3/8 drive socket just for the Eco-Tech oil filter cap.Yes I got one.
