2000 Blazer Transmission Fluid Leak
My blazer (65,500 miles) started leaking transmission fluid at the front of the transmission. It is dripping through the 2 rubber stoppers below the torque converter. It doesn’t seem to leak if it is driven every day or 2. But after a week of sitting, it leaves a 1ft diameter wet spot. Any ideas?
Thanks, Mike |

Replace the stoppers?

Re: 2000 Blazer Transmission Fluid Leak
There is a vent line going to the HVAC system at the top of the tranny.
Oil will only start to come out there if you have an overfilled tranny or it is overheating. Have your transmission serviced with new fluid and a new filter. Also check to see if the fluid is too high.

Re: 2000 Blazer Transmission Fluid Leak
Did you ever find the source and solution to this leak? I have a 2000 Blazer 4x4 with approximately 70K miles and I recently noticed the same problem. Driven daily there is no leak. If the Blazer sits a day there is fluid on the ground. From looking under there real quick it looks like it is coming from the front of the transmission pan. I know I am over due for a transmission fluid and filter so I hoping the transmission pan gasket was leaking and the new one that comes with the transmission filter kit would solve my problem. If it doesn't I was hoping whatever solved your leak could help me.

Re: 2000 Blazer Transmission Fluid Leak
This one sounds like a front transmission seal. If your driving it, its not bad, but if you let it sit, the torque convertor is full and will begin to leak past the seal. Hopefully, though you may be lucky and its just a pan gasket.......
