Re: what oil filter do you guys use??

I use a WIX filter. turns out they make filters for everyone under the sun, but I've used them in everything from my 3/4 ton Silverado to a Volvo VHD Dump truck and EVERthing inbetween(including all my motorcycles). They are by far THE BEST filter for your money. If you get bored, cut that POS FRAM filter open, nothing but plastic, cardboard and thin metal. The WIS is a much more substantial filter. I also run AMSOIL for 20,000mi, I change my filter at 10k(or 1 yr, 6 months respectively) This has actually improved my fuel mileage and really has helped my engine run cooler( in both my blazer and silverado) I used to run AMSOIL filters but it turns out that for half the cost I can get the same filter, the only difference is the paintjob.
I would REALLY urge people to do your research and buy the filter and oil that performs the best, not the one who advertises the most!
Does anyone have the link for the independent study that was done a few years ago on oil and air filters? The shocker on that one was that Delco was the best air filter you could get. This was an amazing totally indepent study that would be useful for anyone.

There's my 2 cents.

I buy a lot of my A C Delco parts from a A C Delco warehouse in my area that services dealers, independent garages and has recently started selling to the general public. There they sell a case (12) of oil filters of one size that is cheaper to buy than by buying them singly. They are shrink wrapped, bypassing the regular box that they come in, saving on packaging costs and thus, selling them at a lower overall cost.. This can be an economical purchase if you change your own oil regularly, and use a lot of filters. It also comes in handy if you own multiple vehicles that use the same numbered filter,( like me )
To find such a warehouse/retailer in your area, you can click on this link and enter your zip code:www.ACDelco.com

Re: what oil filter do you guys use??

It's time to close this poll and this thread. It has been ongoing almost 2 years now. A good time frame for an open poll should be 90 days. Everytime someone new votes in it, it is resurrected no matter how long ago the last post was. Feel free to open a new poll/ thread if desired.
Thread closed.
