I think that the Pure One is one of the better oil filters.

WHat is the brand of the ultraguard? Never heard of it. Is that filter less effective, by flowing more? Is it compatible with synthetic oils? Please reply.

Re: what oil filter do you guys use??
Ultraguard and Duraguard are both AC Delco oil filters.

Re: what oil filter do you guys use??
So is the ultraguard the one to get? Is that what is preferred?

Re: what oil filter do you guys use??
I used to use Delco Ultragards, til Checker's/Schuck's/Kragen stopped carrying them. Sometimes the SKU would cause the cash register to ring them up at the Duragard price, maybe that's why they dumped the item. They are supposed to be super filters. Only way I can get them locally is to order a case of 12 from a Delco warehouse distributor at $12-plus each!
So I've gone to the K&N.

Anybody know why the oil filters are different from 06 to 07??.
The other filter for it is AC/Delco PF48 which they did not have either.
Thanks for any commets!!

07 is a complete redesign. unless you have the classic design 07 then it is the same as the 06. they may have changed the size of the oil filter in NBS 07. the 07 NBS have more horsepower than the classic 07.

Re: what oil filter do you guys use??
Race bike you can use the standard chevy filter, just tell them when you go into the parts store you have the gm 5.3 silverado 99. They will give you the bigger "normal" size filter. The smaller filters are for the newer trucks. I dont know why GM would put such a small filter on a truck... But your filter and the silverado filter are the same base plate and thread pattern, Just ones a little longer.

Re: what oil filter do you guys use??
i used to work in an oil change shop. we used to poke holes in the oil filters to drain the oil outa the filters. fram is JUNK! same with puralator oil filters. fram does not filter properly and without any strength at all, you can put a hole in it. one guy i worked with actually ripped one in half by twisting it. and pualator. we used puralator and they don't seal right. we had people come back all the time becuase the filters did not seal right. it was some thing internal on them some actually blew up. never had a problem with wix and you can never go wrong with oem. also i forgot, penzoil is the same as fram.

wow, no wonder why the manufacturer went w/ a short/smaller filter;
the deeper, more capacity & more filter paper is ~2x more $$$
partsamerica.com online quoted here...
PF46 @ $4.18
PF59 @ $8.99
thanx for the confirmation though that it's out there! now to see if my bro would like that filter installed next time the pc says to change it opcorn:

Ouch
Check some of your parts places that have ac filters.
A lot of them will cut you a good price on ac filters.

Re: what oil filter do you guys use??
Yeah, IIRC from when I used ACDelco filters, the PF59 should only be like $4
