Re: blazer acceleration

A lot of those things can't be really seen as anything but routine maintanence.

The cat was probably ruined by the leaking CPI injector and nut kit and the new one will soon be ruined if you don't get it fixed.

well ive already had the plenum off once and replaced the seal then, i dotn know if it is reasuble because ive done that once on a neon and it sealed again fine, but i did pick up the nut kit, i might as well just buy a new plenum gasket because 12 dollars will save me aggravation, how much did you pay for your cpi i picked mine up new for 240 which is a fairly good price

Re: blazer acceleration

Smart thinking, you want everything new so you know that everything is sealed tight.

Also, remember to clean the EGR port in the upper portion of the plenum that you remove.

Re: blazer acceleration

Excellent, that will help.

Are you doing the work yourself?

If so, make sure you have some torx bits for the nut kit brace at the rear of the plenum.

yes im doin the work myself this is an easy job just a pricey part, i am most likely going to do it tommorow night, the truck is at aamco right now being looked at by another friend of mine becaus ehe has access to the computer scan tools, i dont know when the oxygen sensor comes up if it needs an oxygen sensor or if this is the cpi causing it, i bought anew one for him to replace it anyway, so when it comes back tommorow i am gunna tackle the job

Just be VERY careful when removing the poppets from where they enter the lower plenum. They are VERY brittle.

Also stuff shop towels down the 6 air tubes so nothing travels down into them by mistake.

ok just went up to aamco and talked to my buddy paul who owns the place, he said he looked at my truck himself and computer scanned it and says my problem seems to lie in the throttle position sensor, he said the sensor has gone bad and now the truck is not getting the fuel it needs when it needs it causing it to nto accelerate or even shut off, what do you think about what he had to say blazerlt?

It could be defective as well, but still you have a leaking CPI unit and nut kit.

It still has to be fixed.

Re: blazer acceleration

So you replaced the TPS?

And don't worry about the cpi and nut kit, it had to be replaced.
