Zonda Tuners

Does anyone know if any Zonda owners have let one of the many Mercedes tuners (Brabus, Kleemann, RENNTech, etc.) do work on their cars?

It seems like this would be a given for Brabus considering their work on Mercedes' own supercars like the Maybach and the SLR. Although it would go against Horacio Pagani's notion that the ideal powerplant in a supercar is naturally aspirated, I'd love to see Brabus et al drop one of their twin-turbo V12s in the Zonda. Heck, get rid of the luggage compartment and I'm sure they could make room for intercoolers and turbos.

A turbo would be a bad Id in a Zonda. Its a really low rpm torque monster. low-rpms = T lag

+ turbos would add tons of weight as well. Just like how they fucked up the S7 with turbos S7 norm n/a 2700 S7 TT 2950 at the least.

Lag is no longer a huge issue for turbo charged cars. Granted it does exist, but manufacturers have found many clever ways to alleviate many of the lag problems associated with early turbo-charged cars. Rarely in a review of the Porsche 911 Turbo, a Mercedes SL65 or even any of Volkswagen's 1.8L turbo-charged cars do you hear any mention of lag. Even if you do, it’s the lack of lag that is most often commented on.

Admittedly, turbos do add weight, although there were a lot of other changes to the Saleen S7 this year that affected its weight, not just the addition of turbos. Then again, any weight penalty would easily be compensated for by the sudden addition of 200 more turbo-charged horsepower.

My question was more just out of curiosity. If Brabus sees a need to improve the Mercedes SLR, then why not the Zonda?

Well benz is a more reconized name then pangani as much as I hate to say it. Thats reason number one and reason number two might be because benz has $.

As for the Lag theres only one way to truly get rid of lag and thats the exhaust mounted turbo's. They use the flow from the exhaust to keep the turbo spooling constantly.

Re: Zonda Tuners

um no offense but assuming these were like 300 thousand to purchase selling one of these is equal to a normal benz model selling around 8.so pagani probably has more money. All the rap stars probably have one.

I dont quite understand what your saying? If you mean 1 zonda is = to 8 benz's then yes maybe so but some people prefer finer things in life then the norm.

Re: Zonda Tuners

what i meant is you have to sell 8 benz to make the amount of money pagani does for selling one of their zondas. and hell yeah zondas are better then benz. but someone said benz has money and im saying pagani should have more.

WOW! Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard...

Thats really kinda asshole almost. The people at Pagani just entered the supercar world less then two years ago there struggling to keep them selves alive against makes like ferrari and doing a damn good job of it. What your saying is they're all so rich and can do anything and thats not the case the people there are from what Ive heard are the most down to earth cool people ever and on a very tight budget do you think mercedes gave them those engines? There a break in company that made it against HUGE automakers such as ferrari, lamborghini etc and your sterio typing them like there the king. There staff and ever one deserves ever once of credit they get.

Re: Zonda Tuners

Any chance you two could go talk about this somewhere else? It has absolutely nothing to do with my original post.
